Statement of Faith

We believe that God’s love transcends social class, political affiliation, interest group, color, religion, ethnic group, social location and every human understanding.

God: We believe in one God, who has been pleased to reveal Himself in the person of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. God the Father is the creator of everything both seen and unseen. God the Son redeems the whole creation. God the Holy Spirit sustains the whole creation. The essence of God is what has been referred to in the classical Christian terms as the Trinity.

The Church: We believe that the church was inaugurated on the day of Pentecost to continue the ministry of incarnation in order to reconcile the whole creation to God.

The Bible: The Bible is the only inspired, authoritative Word of God. As such, it is indispensable in teaching and preaching, and is our only trustworthy guide for living.

Creation: We believe that God is the creator of all things both seen and unseen. God is therefore bringing all creation to the knowledge of God through the work of atonement done on the cross by Jesus Christ.

Mission: “The great commission” (Matt. 28:18-20) is a missionary statement made by Jesus before he ascended into heaven. It is a call for the people of God to be on a mission to search for the lost. It is the duty and privilege of every follower of Christ and of every church of the Lord Jesus Christ to endeavor to make disciples of all nations. The people of God are called upon to be witnesses in word and indeed.

Ministry: We believe that in the church of Christ, people have various gifts and each person is called upon to exercise his or her gifts and graces with humility and respect for human dignity.

Sin: We believe that through sin every person has been separated from God. We also believe that in Jesus all who believe become righteous through His blood and are reconciled to God for eternal life.

Grace: We believe that we are saved by grace. There is no human effort that can bring about salvation.

Baptism: Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. It is an act of obedience and a testimony of faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Savior.

Religions and Cultures: We believe that God has not left any people without a witness. Therefore, we must be humble as we share our faith with people of other cultures and religions. We must treat other people and religions with respect, treat their holy places with humility, and share our faith without compromise.
